ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!

Amy Gerlach is pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a Multicultural and Social Justice Certificate at the University of Missouri in Saint Louis. She works with adults, both individuals and couples. She has experience supporting people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, both complex and PTSD, life transitions, ADHD, existential concerns, relational challenges, including attachment wounds, parenting, marital, and spiritual issues.

With Amy, you will find a warm, deeply attuned and caring presence. She uses a creative, intuitive and integrative approach when working with both individuals and couples. She utilizes Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, DBT skills and somatic-informed work when counseling. In addition, she uses the Gottman Method when working with couples.

Amy’s work is informed by a belief that every human has a life story and purpose, and all are worthy of dignity, respect, love and healing. She believes everyone has strengths to harness that help us move through life and the difficulties we face. Therapeutic healing occurs when we are empowered to honor who we are and all the stories we hold and fully accept and love ourselves. This empowerment comes through experiencing the validation of being seen, heard, affirmed and fully accepted.

In Amy’s words, therapy is…

Therapy is an experience where individuals are invited to occupy all their space, share their story, shed light on the wounds to heal, and cultivate a healing, compassionate presence with self. When clients experience safety, curiosity, and compassion instead of judgement, that is where the magic of therapy begins.

We might be a good match if…

  • you’re tired of carrying the weight of trauma, painful relationships, or looping in the same cycles that you want to change

  • you need a safe space to question and process spiritual and/or existential matters

  • you value creativity, depth, humor, social justice, and warmth in the therapeutic space
