ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!

Jackie Buchheit is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and earned her Master’s in Art Therapy Counseling from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Her work centers on cultivating self-compassion, using creativity as a pathway to self-discovery, and supporting meaning-making in young and emerging adults. She specializes in working with individuals navigating neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ identities, and significant life transitions, helping clients strengthen self-trust while navigating the anxiety, self-esteem concerns, and relational challenges that may accompany these experiences.

In session, Jackie blends creativity, humor, and curiosity to cultivate a safe and open-minded space for you to process emotions, manage distress, and build resilience and self-compassion in a way that feels true to who you are. Jackie integrates techniques from talk therapy and art therapy in a way that is flexible to meet your needs and goals. She uses tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, somatic therapy, and existential therapy in both her talk and art therapy approaches.

Jackie believes all you need in therapy is an openness to the idea that curiosity and creativity can lead to self-discovery. You don’t need to be an artist to benefit from art therapy. If you’re looking for more than talk therapy, incorporating creative expression will often break down barriers and illuminate new paths to growth.

In Jackie’s words, therapy is…

Therapy is a safe space to explore true vulnerability and healing with someone who values you for you. It can be scary and painful, but also joyful and life-changing.

We might be a good match if…

  • you're feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck

  • you’re looking for a therapist who understands neurodivergence and the challenges of day-to-day life

  • you value authenticity, creativity, humor, and messiness in the therapeutic space

  • you are curious about how art materials and creative processes can guide your healing
