ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!
Joseph Mapula is pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Missouri in Saint Louis. He works with adults and has experience supporting individuals navigating Depression, Anxiety, Life/Career Changes, Trauma, Motivational Struggles, Sexual Wellness, Neurodivergence Affirmation, Relationship Issues, LGBTQIA+ related issues, and more!
With Joseph, you’ll find a warm and affirming presence and an approach that integrates Trauma-Informed, Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, and Internal Family Systems interventions to support your unique process. Therapy with him is centered around building trust & safety, valuing personal identities & culture, and supporting self-exploration & actualization.
His work is informed by advocacy for social justice and equity, efforts to de-pathologize and de-stigmatize the mental health field, and to offer accessible support to a broad population. He strives to hold space that is safe, collaborative, and empowering.
In Joseph’s words, therapy is…
I hope that my clients can feel supported and empowered to challenge themselves to look within, identify their strengths, and grow beyond what they thought was possible. Through the best experiences to the most difficult struggles, I will be there to support my clients and help them recognize their potential.
We might be a good match if…
you're navigating life transitions, identity development, or otherwise difficult experiences
you’re looking for a therapist who acknowledges the complexities of trauma, practices cultural humility, and is neuro-affirming
you value authenticity, social justice, and humor in the therapeutic space
