ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!

Whit Ford is pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis and has obtained a Multicultural and Social Justice certificate. They work with adults and have experience supporting individuals navigating LGBTQIA+ issues, trans and gender identity exploration, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

With Whit, you’ll find a warm and calming presence and an approach that integrates person-centered, strengths-based approaches, with some focus on CBT/DBT and mindfulness, to support you in your mental health journey. Therapy with them is centered around building self-trust and reliance, honoring identity, meeting yourself where you are, and recognizing that we are all humans attempting to navigate this world.

Their work is informed by the lived experience of navigating the uncertainties of sexual orientation, the specifics associated with transitioning, and the importance of education and understanding of common mental health concerns. They strive to hold space that is nonjudgmental, affirming, and safe.

In Whit’s words, therapy is…

I hope to build a therapeutic relationship with you that resonates with humor, warmth, and the understanding that we are all human.

We might be a good match if…

  • you’re navigating stress, anxiety, or depression.

  • you’re looking for a therapist who is a part of the LGBTQIA+ community

  • you value authenticity, creativity, humor, and a therapist who isn’t a “blank slate”
